Homemade from scratch has always been a way of life for me. I think it's my farm girl roots. Growing up on a farm in Idaho is one of my life's greatest blessings. With fresh vegetables from the garden, freshly picked cherries, apples and apricots from the orchards and a freezer full of pork and beef, I learned at an early age the meaning of homemade with love! Today, my kids regularly ask for my chocolate chip and Rolo caramel cookies, Sunday dinner rolls and early morning waffles with homemade strawberry jam.
You can say that over the years baking has become a passion of mine!
A year ago, out of curiosity and a desire to try new things, I whipped up a batch of buttercream frosting, picked up a piping bag and decorated my first set of cupcakes. Let's just say it was "love at first piping!" and I knew there was no turning back! Not knowing anything about cake decorating, I poured my heart and soul into teaching myself everything I could about buttercreams, cake ingredients, decorating tips, coloring buttercream and everything in between. After much trial and error, I perfected my frosting with the silkiest texture, piping consistency and irresistible flavor!
With the encouragement of my family and friends, I decided to offer this new found love of cake & frosting to others and start Sugar & Frost. I've learned so much along the way and more than anything, I've gained so many wonderful friends, customers and social media followers that fill my heart daily! I would have never guessed I would be where I am just after one year.
